After 10 days, Mummy already lost 10kg, thanks to Kak Lela.. but still got 5-6kg more to lose before back to pre-preg weight.. Now mummy's tummy is flabby n full of ugly marks n wrinkles..

Long time no blog.. been busy n lazy n tired.. for both daddy and mummy..

Here is Baby Alyssa's arrival log:

On 3rd Jan 2007 (Daddy & Mummy's 3rd year anniversary)

1030am : mummy got a bit of show, took some books to see if i am in labour, but book says no. So din get too excited abt it.

1130am : start to feel irregular contracitons, but since mummy is having it all the time.. din think too much abt it..

1230pm : off to lunch at Lot one, before lunch - queuing at Post office to buy more off-peak car coupons, queue for 1hr, mummy nearly fainted.. back started to ache like hell.. had lunch at 130pm then head to TMC for routine gynae check up

230pm : reach gynae clinic, take urine test, etc.. then as usual waiting for our turn..

300pm : finally its our turn, told gynae got show in morning, she check immediately n ask if mummy got contractions, mummy say ya.. but irregular.. n the next moment, she is bursting the waterbag saying alr 1.5 to 2 cm dilated. (was in shock), push out of the room by wheelchair, n nurses/daddy prep for admission.. mummy was wheel to labour ward for delivery.. cant believe its happening so fast..

5pm-7pm : in birth room, mummy watching tv.. chatting w daddy.. contractions are mild.. no need any pain relieve yet. had fish porridge n black chicken soup for dinner.

730pm : doc come in to check say not much dilation.. so put mummy on drip to get more intense contractions.. within 20mins.. mummy was asking nurse to give gas (still can smile n ask politely)

1100pm : cannot take it liao. contractions too intense cos nurse keep increasing the dosage of my drip.. contract abt every 2mins, ask for the jab on thigh.. REN!! nothing happen after the jab.. was in pain until whole body shaking n grabing on gas.. lost track of wat is gng on..

1145pm : BEG for epidural!!! tell daddy cannot take it anymore.. cant even talk properly.. nurse check to see if still in time for it.. and after so much PAIN!~! not much dilations.. only at ard 3cm!! trying to REN thru every painful contractions while waiting for doc.

On 4th Jan 2007

12midnight: on epidural, feel instant relieve.. n doze off for a few mins.. then pain starts again.. this time was more painful then before so ask nurse WHY STILL SO PAIN even epidural.. she check the machine/drip, say should not feel anything leh.. mummy insisted that the pain was very intense..

1225am : nurse finally realise that the dilation is almost there, can start to push already.. WAS SO SHOCK!!! dilate so FAST???? pushing when got contractions, once start pushing, cant really feel contractions.. if dun push feel like dying.. so mummy knows exactly how it feels WITHOUT epidural.

0110am : been nearly an hour.. still pushing.. exhausted.. head almost crowning, but still got 1-2cm to go.. nurse call gynae in to help me.. gynae rush down from home.

0120am : gynae arrive.. assisted to push.. but mummy really done her best, no more energy.. so she prep vacuum to pull bb out..

0130am : taadaa.. Baby Alyssa is out after assisted by vacuum n episotomy, n after 4 LONG n STRONG pushes from mummy..

Alyssa weight around 3.2kg at wk 37. Semi-engaged. now counting down..

Week Thirty-Seven
-This week, the average size is about 6.3 pounds (2859gm) now and 19.1 inches (48.6cm) length.
-She is official full term now but can still benefit from extra days in the womb.
-Your baby continues to practice breathing movements. Isn't it amazing how she can breathe "under water?"
-Grasp is firm now. It won't be long until you'll feel that strong little fist confidently grasping your finger (or tightly clenching your hair)!
-A few weeks ago, your baby would move her eyes toward light. Now she turns towards light outside the uterus.
-" As the uterine wall stretches and thins allowing more light to permeate, he develops definite daily activity cycles. You will want to be sure to establish good patterns yourself at this time, thus encouraging them in your child. Ever heard of a baby getting his days/nights mixed up? Now's the time to try to avoid that!

Baby already 3kg today.. hehehe.. doc says its a good weight for bb and bb can come out anytime now since the weight is there..

Contractions are still there.. now waiting for dilations or any other "signs" to go labour.. gosh. so excited~ wondering when will i pop~!!

False Alarm @ wk 35/36

Woken up by cramp this morning at 6am+ n cramp was in a interval of 10-20mins.
got worried so call labour ward to check n was asked to go down to TMC for monitoring. Had bft and reach TMC at 9am+ was on CTG from 10am to 1330pm.
having regular contraction of 5-6 mins interval. Worried n stressed. ask bb Alyssa to be guai guai n stay on for 2-3 more wks.
Dr Tan arrive to check on me.. had my first cervix test.. heng no dilation yet. had ventolin tablets to control contractions and a painful jab to mature bb's lungs. got better so no need to hospitalise but was ask to bed rest till end of the wk.
Got to go for routine check up tomorrow.. hope everything goes well..

===> Daddy's car number open in today's 4D.. n he forgot to buy.. heng not top 3.. else.. ... ... ....

Routine Check up at Wk 34

Baby now is 2.45 kg at Wk 34. Mummy lost 600g while baby gain 450g.

Week Thirty-Four
-Your baby acts completely like a newborn, with her eyes opened when awake and closed when sleeping. You may also find her settling into more of a routine for sleeping & awake times.
-She has learned to blink. She can also see more clearly when there is a bright light on your stomach and probably has the outline of all your organs memorized!
-Antibodies from your blood are being tranferred to him. These immunities continue to build until birth. Then breastmilk will add even more protection against disease.
-Your baby may have already turned to a head-down position in preparation for birth.
-If he is your first baby, he may be settling into the pelvis with his head pressing against your cervix.
-Fingernails have reached the end of the fingertips now. She may scratch her face even before she is born!
-Your little one's length is 17.7 inches (45cm) and weight is 4.7 pounds (2146 g).

Alyssa weighs est 1.5kg today. so happy to see her during scan.
Tomorrow, Alyssa will be 29weeks~! woohoo..

Week Twenty-Nine
-Your baby's head is in proportion with body now. He appears more like a newborn each and every day!
-Fat continues to accumulate under the skin -- only now preparing for entering the *real world*.
-Your baby's brain can control primitive breathing and body temperatures.
-His eyes can move in their sockets. Soon he will be able to follow a blinking light.
-Your baby is increasingly sensitive to changes in light, sound, taste, and smell! Various studies show that your baby may indicate preferences (or disdain) for particular tastes or odors at this stage
-He is also moving from side to side, but probably still is head up. In the next few weeks, he will move to the head down birthing position. At times you may feel as if he is performing somersaults for a circus act!
-Her length is now approximately 15.2 inches (38.6cm) and weight is 2.54 pounds (1153gm)

2nd Antenatal Class plus TMC tour

Today, Sleepy mummy n daddy went to their 2nd Antenatal class. Today the sister talk about ways of pain relief.. Epidural sounds so scary.. Hope mummy can tahan the pain.. *jia you mummy*

Alyssa is now 28 Weeks and 2 days in the womb. 11 weeks and 5 days to go..

Daddy's New Trick

Today daddy show mummy something 'new'.. he came home, stand at Senkiku's scratchpole n start scratching.. the next moment, senkiku walk to the scratchpole n scratch with daddy ---> daddy gave mummy a HL look.

Before that, he already proven to mummy that he can ask Senkiku to 'sit' and 'stand'.. well done Daddy!

New resolutions for the next 3 months

Mummy now will try to be as happy / cheerful as possible for the sake of Alyssa. Granny says mummy always fall sick cos she keep too much "anger" to herself, thats y keep falling sick n feel heaty.. Sigh~ must learn how to "see open".. accept the fact that Mummy is FAT and Tummy is HUGE. YESS. learn how to accept what ppl commented abt her preggie look and at the same time.. not to be angry.. accept wat they say. the KEY is DO NOT GET ANGRY.

-----> alright.. its time to cut down on mood swings

Also, need to lower expectations about everything around her. this way, she will not feel stressed n pek chek when expectations not met.

Do not compare what you do not have with others, learn to feel contented and appreciate all friends n family..

-------> ok.. mummy will try her best also.

*please wish me all the best.. i know its not easy to do the above, i am no saint. but i will try... give me some time.. for sake of my family, i.e. daddy n alyssa*

Sick Again

Mummy is sick again... on and off for 1 mth already.. sad.
sore throat is back, nose is block again, eyes itch again.. dunno what to say.

well, mummy is learning to make the blog looks nicer while daddy is playing Maple story (as usual).. why cant daddy help?

Movie Day

Yeah.. Finally watch a movie together after nth month.. cant even remember when is the last movie after mummy got preg...
We watch Rob-B-hood at Westmall. Baby Alyssa keep kicking thru out the movie- maybe she heard the handsome bb's crying? hahaha.. Its really a nice show.. and Mr Koo is still as good looking as b4..

Woke up very very early today.. cant sleep.. suspect that I am preg... i secretly wake up, quietly take the clear blue test kit n go toilet to test... starting at the kit for 3-5 mins.. saw 2 lines!!!!
wooohooo.. i am preg~!! faster woke Steve up n show him the 2 lines.. altho' i know he want a kid very very much.. he still can act cool and say: really? think we better go doc to confirm.. Immediately, we went to our GP to test.. and its POSITIVE.. doc congrats us... Steve n me left the clinic w big big smile... cant keep out mouth close.. wahhaha..
Go back home.. log on to Singapore motherhood.. n start reading the threads..

Its a big big mother's day pressie to my mum n MIL.. MIL cant stop smiling.. hiak hiak.
